Costing Accountant

| Main Purpose:
The primary purpose of a costing accountant is to accurately determine, analyze, and manage the costs associated with a company’s products or services. This role is critical in ensuring the financial health and efficiency of the business by providing detailed insights into cost structures and identifying areas for cost savings. |
Key Results Area:
- Raising stock POs using QDocs
- Timely costing of shipments
- Keep filing neat and updated
Job Specific Requirements
- Create and raise stock POs using QDocs.
- Place orders and maintain clear, effective communication with suppliers.
- Capture shipment details in Excel templates accurately and promptly.
- Cross-check Excel files and POs, addressing any discrepancies with suppliers.
- Cost shipments in Excel once Cargo Compass invoices are received.
- Attach Syspro POs through Landed Cost Tracking (LCT).
- Ensure consistency between Syspro and Excel costings, resolving discrepancies by re-costing in Syspro.
- Communicate costed shipments to the receiving teams for further processing.
Requirements
- Matric or Grade 12 with Accounting
- BCom Degree or Accounting Diploma a must
- Working knowledge of Pastel and Syspro a must
- PC Literacy – Excel – intermediate
Technical Skills
- Proficient working knowledge of Pastel and Syspro.
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel.
- General PC literacy.
